About me
Founded to serve the communities of Central Kentucky, Bluegrass Greensource provides environmental education, resources, and outreach that inspire, equip, and empower residents with the knowledge and tools needed to help ensure clean, healthy, and enjoyable environments for future generations. Every day, staff members are working throughout the community to remove barriers — whether they involve access to information or resources — that prevent greater sustainability.
Bluegrass Greensource educators work alongside teachers and students in classrooms across the region, bringing to life the science of water, waste, and energy through hands-on learning experiences. At the same time, outreach specialists partner with businesses, organizations, and community members to advance sustainability goals through programs such as rain barrel workshops, litter cleanups, and home energy efficiency education. Through these efforts, Bluegrass Greensource demonstrates that small individual actions can create meaningful environmental impact.
The organization’s comprehensive energy education and outreach program is led by Pattie Stivender, Program Director overseeing PreK–12 education initiatives. Supporting these efforts are Gwen Hatcher, Rachel Skinner, and Alli Johnson. Together, this team delivers environmental and energy education programs that engage schools, businesses, and communities throughout Central Kentucky.
