About me
Dr. Laura Carter-Stone joined CELT after earning her PhD in Teaching, Learning, and Diversity from Vanderbilt University. As a Robert Penn Warren Center for the Humanities Environments Fellow during her time at Vanderbilt, she collaborated with interdisciplinary teams on a variety of environmental education and research projects. Her research explores how instructors might adapt practices from the art of theatrical improvisation to create more democratic and enlivening learning communities. Laura’s teaching and research interests also include active and collaborative learning, equitable and authentic modes of assessment, and promoting student leadership.
